- We begin by looking for a place to rest.
- Lilith accidentally does a necromancy ritual and gets 3 rad skelly boys (the Gusses)
- We fight a skinny old lady and some skelerats. I accidentally crush the head of a corpse
- During the fight Aurelia shoots me with a crossbow
- We get some cool loot
- More fighting. Heroism on Tzon who fucking cleans house in the combat
- Find a room for rest. Cassandra brings out steve the animated soap
- Mortlock tells us to go deal with his brother Amorick who runs a business out of Low Lantern in dockside before finding his mom
- Divorce drama (honestly I missed it so idk what it was about) Aurelia tells them to fix their shit and get along without using her in the middle
We start to leave the dungeon and then realize we should probably leave or disguise the Gusses. We put them in some cloaks. We also put Skraps on Mortlocks shoulders to replace his head (classic Big Man; Little Head)
We make our way up the stairs and we here calming music. Bathhouse is open. We are all very stinky. Lilith ties the Gusses together to make it look like we captured some cultists. We walk in on a massage presently happening. The massage receiver freaks out.
We exit the bathhouse among many people freaking out by our sudden appearance. As we leave 7 figures leap down from the courtyard walls. They wear, black leather, cloaks, and strange masks that make them look kinda dragonish. They have curved steel blades reminiscent of dragon claws. The leader sniffs the air and says that we have something that belongs to "the scaled tyrant". He clearly wants the crown. Lily minor illusions a top hat on her head which is super obvious. He says "Kill them" BATTLE!
We easily dispatch them (Aurelia did get fucked up again tho, but didn't go down). We leave the courtyard. Mortlock says he has to get out of town but we should get leverage by using Amorick. Specifically saying that taking him prisoner is probably a good plan.
I buy my items for my ritual and I ask if anyone knows anyone who would be willing to be my living altar. Lily does and reaches out to some clients she knows. Specifically Charles Vanderfurth. Upper city guy. He's married. Real kinky and masochistic. We are going to meet up this evening back at the bathhouse.
We go down into the room where we got the Gusses to perform the ritual/oath. Aurelia is forced to sign an NDA so as not to tell what she's seen because Charles got nervous. I perform the ritual. When I pour my blood into the chalice an opalescent steam rises from the chalice. Aurelia does an awkward clap as I finish. Some others join in. Lily does the aftercare for Charles. I thank him and he thanks me. He gives Lily a platinum piece.
Aurelia and Lily talk about how Aurelia could potentially learn how to be a dom. She asks for periodic tidbits of advice. We finish a Long Rest! Everyone levels up!!
Aurelia and Skraps go back to Skraps. He offers her a drink. He makes a gin, blueberry, and hibiscus martini. He makes himself a brandy, honey, and elder flower drink (his usual?). He asks about the weird things that happen when she feels strong emotions. This brings up strong emotions lol. A shimmering field begins to surround her and her hair lifts up a little. She removes her cloak and gloves. Wrapped up around her left arm is a borderlands siren style of tattoo. Its like glowy purple. She tries to modify the NDA to reuse it but is incapable for some reason. She wanted him to keep his word, but he says he will anyway. She says she harbors an embarrassing secret of a dark lineage. She says she has a bit of Psionic stuff going on. She needs no one to know about it. She says that her parents will disown her. She says its connected to mindflayers somehow. Lily is the only other person who knows. She doesn't feel comfortable using them and doesn't feel she can control it. Skraps tells her that she just needs to accept and practice instead of trying to hide it and push it down. She feels like she's intrinsically evil. Skraps says that no and that you have to choose to be evil. That if you use your dark powers for good that cancels out. She demands a secret of his in return. He summons a little purple spectral blade. He says he's ashamed of it. That he was always gravitating to knives and that he used to make blades appear and disappear and float and stuff in his circus act. He says that things didn't end well for his circus. They would travel up and down the Sword Coast. He watched most of his crew get taken out by SOMEONE (Rakshasha or something). He says he tries to keep the knives thing under wraps in case that guy finds out. Skraps says his name is Gonad Hoghollow (idk if that's his carnival name or his real name.) They share a smoke.
Tzon goes out to a marketplace with a lot of ambient noise. He thinks of the ritual he witnessed. He blindfolds himself and meditates and just listens to things. He's not used to being a city boy. He happens to be in a courtyard that some BG3 shit happens while he is trying to meditate so he can't meditate like he wants unfortunately. But as he walks through the streets he contemplates the ways in which the beauty he has seen in the world has been out in the wilds. The more natural things of life. Of someone away from society. This day though he learns to pull a piece of wisdom from finding the beauty of the chaos of more city society.
Lily does some spell component shopping and also does some secret stuff that only Dustin knows. The Gusses stay back at her home.
We meet back up at the docks. As we do fog obscures the low lantern. Its a converted ship with no sails. Anchored by chains. Its very eerie. Aurelia awkwardly makes it clear she and Skraps did something last night. She and Skraps apparently fucked?? (not really but thats what we think anyway) We make our way onboard. We can see the tavern through the like grate thing. There are a couple ravens. There is some outside seating. Tzon doesn't like the ravens, though they appear to just be ravens. Lily tries to walk up to them and befriend them. They aren't down for it.
We go down into the tavern. Its very noisy and busy. Its also very smelly. We see an assortment of folks but one stands out. Seated at the end of the bar is one Lalaelra Thundreth.
She introduces herself and that people call her The Captain. She recognizes Aurelia and makes a big show off bowing and kissing her hand. She seems to mostly be messing with her though. Aurelia makes her own show of being all rich and shit though Aurelia doesn't know that she's doing it. She name drops Duke Vanthampur (she's deff lying but it works.) She points us the way of Amorick who is one floor down. We get some drinks. We start to head downstairs.
