We awake in the cavern with all the sad refugees. Skraps whispers to tzon 'u up?' they have a lil chat which wakes up Lily who is all groggy and wants her beauty sleep. they all get up and get ready for the day. She looks around for the blacksmith who is standing by the breakfast spread made of meager rations. some type of discussion about the crab meat and if its safe to cook and eat. Pherria comes up and tells us we shouldn't eat them since they are fiendish. Lily knows that it sounds like a fiendish ritual to gain the power of said fiend. She doesn't know of anything specific but it deff seems potentially unpredictable.
Lily says she isn't gonna eat any but won't stop anyone. Tzon says he will if Skraps does. Lily breaks some quarterstaffs and starts a little fire. They boil it in a font of holy water. Pherria initially is opposed to the use of holy water for this, but Skraps is able to convince her that the holy water might help fix the fiend problem, and she thinks of potentially being able to feed the starving refugees.
Lily boils up Legs, So Juicy (one of the crabs). I crack it open for Skraps to try. It looks delectable. Skraps tries his first. As he takes a bite, it tastes like ash and he can tell that the flavor sucks but the texture is good. It was well cooked but it just tastes bad. Pherria looks at him and tells him that all the food they had here in Elturguard also tastes horrible. It seems to be just how food here is. He's deff still satiated but it tastes bad.
Lily tries some jerknut that previously tasted fine now also tastes the same. She casts prestidigitation to try to overcome the flavor and it kind of does but not entirely. Tzon spits his out. Skraps eats his fill. He tells of eating worse things. Pherria asks us to stick around to keep an eye on him, but then realizes that we need to get to the cemetery.
Also Cassandra removes Skraps' curse. I offer to test if it works. He asks if the crowd would like to see him get punched. He's not super thrilled about getting punched to check. He prepares for Lily to slap him but she pulls out a knife and stabs him right in the top of the leg. She waves her hands and gives him a kiss on the cheek and I slap my hand down on the wound using Lay on Hands. This whole thing gets a bunch of kids laughing which also cheers up many of the adults a little. It did finally heal him. Aurelia also gives him a little slap (it does zero damage) Skraps gets flirty with it of course.
We make our way out of this area to head towards the Grand Cemetery. Lulu accompanies us. Lily says she's our favorite loud enough for Reya to here who sits their scowling. We make our way onto the streets of Elturel. As we get back upstairs I give Bean skritches and love and feed her some horse rations.
As we make our way through the streets, battles rage below and throughout the city. We notice perched on a bench is a really nasty demon bird like thing. It doesn't really pay us any mind. It seems somewhat injured and kind of just looks off into the horizon from the bench. Tzon, Skraps, and Lulu go off to hide behind a statue. I stare it down and make sure it doesn't lunge at us. I hear in my mind "Why do we fight? Why endless battle? What other meanings to exist could their be, sides chaos and destruction?" I can't think of any response so I just nod in recognition.
in Lily's mind "Need we be at war devil?" "Yes," she responds. "Why? We could destroy the mortals together. Form something even better. Maybe destruction is all there really is. What say you?" "I believe in order not chaos" "Why why do I react in such a way to order? It's innate. It's in me. I must oppose order. See you on the battlefield, but not today," he says as he picks up and flies off into the distance.
We continue along. There is a ten foot high brass fence that once surrounded the cemetary. It's fallen in many places. The gate has been torn from its hinges. A bunch of humanoid parts are stabbed into the top of the gate. Many of them wiggle and move. There is a bunch of statues to a bunch of positive gods. The once holy structure glows with a fetid purple resonance. Walking the grounds, we see three undead minotaur skeletons. They seem to be wandering and don't seem to have any clear purpose. They haven't acknowledged us.
Inside we see the temple where it seems we must go and also another smaller building that appears to be a small hut of somekind. Potentially quarters for the grave keeper or something. Skraps sneaks in through a hole in the fence. Skraps uses the groupchat thing. Lily, Skraps, Tzon, and Balsam. I tell Aurelia she should name her Scimitar Haeda (orcish for to flay)
Skraps successfully sneaks up and peaks into the window of the sub-building. There is a bunch of furniture strewn haphazardly. There are symbols to the gods. There is also a tome that seemed to have survived. Sitting at a desk is a guy. He is writing in the book. Skraps tells us in the groupchat that he has pointy fingers, lily asks if he has any symbols. It's just the ones on the building. He doesn't appear to be wearing any. Lily updates Aurelia on the guy. She is like "How do you know?" she gets all offended when she discovers that she has been left out of the groupchat. She picks Tzon up and threatens him to tell her that she's been left out.
Skraps keeps heading around the cemetery to check out things. He sees murals of heroes of elturels past on the patio. The door is open, the windows are broken with stained glass scattered everywhere.
Lily also sneaks in through the hole in the gate. She also wants to look through the window with the guy. From her angle she can't tell anything else other than being kinda hot. She assumes he's in charge of the minotaurs. Aurelia goes and follows Lily. Lily tries to sneak her way into the building to talk to the man. Aurelia totally fails at sneaking. She is all tripped up by Lily being vulnerable and admitting she's scared and she trips and bumps into Lily. The minotaurs notice and go raaaaaaawwwrr and turn and look. They are both all like "Hey we just wanted to talk to the man he invited us or whatever"

The man asks us to follow him. His name is Gideon Lightward. He smacks Arson upside the head scolding him for letting a halfling inside. He asks who the rest of us are. We introduce ourselves. Aurelia brags about herself and says we are from BG. He says that explains why we are so clean. She also insults the architecture and stuff. He was in Elturel when it fell. He died during it. Various traumas. He was crushed. He is seemingly undead. It was a blessing of the lady that kept him still walking. He's served her well and she has served him. He is here trying to end the demon incursion in the basement. We are all on the same team as long as he leaves the archduke alive. He agrees.
We head inside and into a subroom. Inside we see a couple buggy boys (Mezzoloth) they turn and look to Gideon and speaking in a telepathic link. Inside our room is a bunch more shattered furniture and mirrors. It's where priests used to prepare. There is a stairway leading down. The bugs were guarding it. At this moment we hear a skittering and thumping from the stairs. Rising from the stairs are a giant scorpion followed by a number of Dretches.
