- Back to the bathhouse, shenanigans ensue
- we go buy a bunch of wigs
- To the villa shit goes sideways. We fight some guards. Amrik is in for such a world of pain.
- Skraps ginds a gold signet ring with the motto "stone hearts never bleed"
We resume while fighting the guards
skraps opens a door to check it out while I am handling the guards. theres a bed and a chest and a night table. he tries to open the chest. its not locked. he sees a few folded drab garments made for a large person. a pinwheel. stuffed troll doll. not much. Its Mortlocks room.
We handle the guards. just the one guard died. the rest got knocked out. We put them in mortlocks room in his bed
Tzon opens a door that opens up to a balcony about 15 feet up.
I open a different door that Cassandra heard some noises behind and asked me to open. Inside we see a wiry gaunt man holding a strange box. IIIIIITS Thurstwell!
The room is all dark and moody. Has a bed a padlocked iron chest, a tub, and a fireplace. He shouts and releases an action. I dodge a sacred flame he releases. I run in and tackle him. And drag him into the silence pointing at him so my friends know I got him. I then see a little imp appear and try to smack me.
Tzon and Lilith go and chill on the balcony. Tzon because he doesn't know that combats happening again. Lilith because she just thinks its handles and kinda doesn't care.
Skraps goes in and starts to work on the padlocked chest. He fails. Cassandra takes the box that Thurstwell is holding. He's very weak but also upset that it was taken from him, reaching out with grabby hands about it. its a small box with a gold frame to it composed of airtight interlocking parts made from various metals and stones. seems almost irons but some of the gears and interlocking parts are made of bone. It seems there is a way to open it but she doesn't know how.
I knock him out with a sick sleeper hold. Skraps still tries to break open the chest. He fails again and I go put him onto his bed. We move the bodies into Thurstwells room. I also fail to break open the chest. Aurelia tries to telekinetically remove the lock but it just drags the chest with it. Skraps finally just looks in Thurstwells pockets and finds a keyring. He checks the metals and uses the right key first try.
Inside is a jumble of wrinkled garments, red candles, parchment, quills, and ink. also a coffer with 70 gp, 120 sp and also a small vial with red liquid in it, it doesn't appear to be blood though. Also a black covered tome titled apocalypto.
Lily looks at the book. It seems to be a poetic prophecy by an unknown author with visions of the end of the multiverse.
Skraps hands me a dagger. I wake him up and he is immediately very compliant. Reya asks about Thavius Kreeg and he says he's in the dungeon below the house. His mom is down there. She and Thavius are plotting the downfall of Baldurs Gate. Their plan is that they had stolen a powerful shield and there is a powerful devil named Gargauth in the shield. He's vowed to help them conquer BG if released. Kreeg is confident he has a way to release him. Thavius brought the box that Cassandra has. This guy still doesn't know how to open the box. Tzon asks about the book. He claims its just kinda something he likes to read. It describes an ancient Lich who rises to power and rewrites reality from a plane of dreams. he says there are 9 guards in the yard. Entrance to the dungeon is past the kitchen in the northeast wing.
I knock him back out and then we manacle him to the bed and lock the room as we leave. Reya is not handling Thavius being a damn traitor well. We go check out some more rooms.
Tzon open a room with a bunch of cosmetics and needles and threads. Tall black wardrobe. Decorative gold rug. Three unlocked chests. Tzon takes the needles and threads. Skraps loots the chests. One full of shoes, one has three old bridal gowns, the third has seasonal hats. On the vanity are 6 bottles of fine perfumes. A slivered hairbrush with lapis. A wooden jewelery box with electrum filigree, a pearl necklace, another thing something something winged cat????? and 2 more vials of red liquid. Tzon puts on a wedding dress. like actually way too huge.
Tzon checks out another door. Master bedroom. A dumbwaiter in the southwest corner . cord hanging from it that rings a bell. A big ole bed. Another padlocked iron chest. Padlock is cast in the shape of a horned devils scowling visage. Tzon starts looking around for any hidden like stuff. Not finding anything incriminating except the chest. Skraps picks the lock on it.
Inside is 3 thin black covered ledgers, entries written in infernal. a set of calligraphers supplies, a poisoners kit, and a coin pouch made from a sheeps bladder containing 22pp. 85gp, 113 sp. Finally a set of pipes with decorative rat accouterments. Skraps hears a click, and then feels a false bottom click upwards and then a cloud of poisonous gas starts pouring out. Skraps, Lily, Cassandra, and Der'ik are all in it. Skraps fails. Cassandra poofs Der'ik outta existence to keep him safe.
Tzon starts climbing into the dumbwaiter he wants to see whats on the other side of it. He slips and makes a lotta noise. He lands atop the like actual dumbwaiter part that was already down. As he lands at the bottom. It shifts the dumbwaiter enough that he can see a chef preparing a meal. He sees yknow a kitchen. also a Tressym! So cute! The chef sees him and starts yelling at him and he sprints right back up and out. (All that happens at the same time as next paragraph)
Lily goes and checks out one more room. It has a suit of armor, a desk, and a bunch of books and such. Also a spiral staircase that goes up. A fiery light fills the suit and then it starts animating. BATTLE! The armor takes out Tzon. This awakens something in Skraps (he thinks back on seeing his fellow circus dudes get slaughtered). He does one of his sick knife throwing things. I take him out and the helmet lands in Tzon's now conscious (Cassandra healed him) lap.
A book falls into Lilith's lap as she leans up against a bookshelf. Its called the last charge of the hellriders. In it is a cavity with 2 keys on a ring.
